Back in the day, Hasbro Action figure collections succeeded by introducing several figures starting in 1965. James Bond 007 the Man from UNCLE, and west of honey were three of the most popular action figure editions of Gilbert. The exceptionally popular TV series was the subject of an interesting line 1966. The figures, clothing, and all flexible plastic fittings were similar in design to the best of Series Marx west, only smaller. Today, everything has evolved onto a new dimension.
Did you know that Captain Action by Ideal Toy Company in 1966, action figures secured a permanent place in the manufacture of the toy? Action Captain looked like a futuristic pilot the airline, but could be converted to carry comic to TV, and super heroes. The conversion was accomplished by changing the suit and full head mask. Although the ideal gave up the complex arrangement of Action figure approval after three years, the super heroes have remained an important segment of the market action figure ever since.
Mego was quick to offer a replacement. In 1972, greatest super heroes released the first six world. The series continued through 1982 eventually offered 34 different super heroes and villains. The 8 “plastic Action figure models relied heavily on body stockings to dress lithographed with detailed plastic weapon accessories. There were several vehicles and play sets for aggregate hours of play. Nowadays, this is totally different, materials have changed and prices have been reduced.
Mego branched out with the figures of the films, as the planet of the apes and later Star Trek: The Motion Picture over Star Trek TV series, one million BC, Dukes of Hazard, and chips. They also made the historical series based on pirates, King Author characters of Robin Hood, and legendary figures of the American West. Somehow Kenner products, then a division of General Mills, Inc., ended up with all the rights to toys and games, but there were not enough time to get Action figure models (manufactured in Asia) shelves for Christmas.
To meet the immediate demand, Kenner sold a large envelope of cardboard called “the package early bird certificate” that ensured the delivery of the priority of the first four figures by the following February. In March, the first eight Action figure models were available in the stores, the four following a summer with nine more on the shelves of Christmas 1978. Amazing, right? The figures, vehicles, and additional play sets were produced in conjunction with the animated cartoon series Droids and Ewoks on TV which aired as a Saturday morning kids programs. You cannot ignore this grandiose development!Â
